Tara’s Story
Tara Driver had a cough that would not go away during her pregnancy. She learned the cause of the persistent cough 10 days after she gave birth to her baby girl. She had stage 4 lung cancer.
One night in the hospital, shortly after her diagnosis in March 2015, with her baby nearby, her brother was quitely sobbing while looking out the window. He told her he did not know what to do. He said, “you have no spouse and no one to be there for you. Tara laughed and said she had him! She had friends, family, and many reasons to be thankful.
Even then, as she was hurting, she said, “We need to help people who don’t have a brother or a mom like I do.”
Tara won her battle with cancer in October 2016. She left behind a story of hope and the legacy now known as
